The "Covenant Community Connection," a sub-group of the Salisbury Rowan Human Relations Council, will co-sponsor the next Catawba College Community Forum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. The group is "committed to being a multicultural voice helping to foster unity and harmony in our community," reports Ms. Betty Jo Hardy of the Connection. She adds: "For a long time we have wanted to have a forum that focuses on words and feelings of fear that divide the human family... We have titled our forum, 'Meet Your Neighbor.' "

Moderator for this event is Mr. Chris Verner, Opinion Editor at the Salisbury Post. Panelists are Rabbi Dr. Andrew Ettin who serves Temple Israel, Salisbury; Dr. Bryant Norman, African-American dentist; Mrs. Elai Gegorek, Hispanic businesswoman; Dr. Samuel Dansokho, professor at Hood Theological Seminary and native of Senegal; Dr. Yen-Wan Hung, professor at Livingstone College and native of China; Mr. Todd Adrian, president of PFLAG; and a representative of the Muslim community to be announced.

Ms. Hardy concludes: "We invite the community to come, listen and learn about the richness of this community and expand your understanding of our diverse population."

Join us on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in Tom Smith Auditorium of Ralph W. Ketner Hall on the campus of Catawba College to meet your neighbors and discuss a host of important issues in our community. Admission, as always, is free.
