Gordon Snyder, Adjunct Faculty in Music at Catawba College, was recognized as the 2015 National Music Educator of the Year by Music and Arts, a retail chain that sells and rents music and orchestra instruments, among other products.
One of nearly 2,000 educators nominated, Snyder is the first winner from North Carolina.
Snyder was instrumental in the design, development and implementation of Catawba's Worship Arts curriculum. He currently directs Catawba's praise band ensembles and teaches Worship Arts courses, while serving as an excellent mentor for students.
