On Sunday, April 30, at 4:00 p.m. in the resonant Omwake-Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College, "Our Song4" will be presented.  This program, under the direction of Dr. Phillip E. Burgess, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral/Vocal studies at the college, will feature the 80-voice Catawba Singers, the 40-voice Chamber Choir, and the close harmony of the PopAC ensemble.

"Our Song4" is the final choral program of the 2016-2017 academic year and is very unique in its programming.  All of the selections were chosen from student suggestions, with those receiving the most votes being selected to be performed on the concert.

The 75-minute concert will feature works by Jenkins, Bestor, Gjeilo, Billy Joel, and Freddie Mercury.  As is customary, the PopAC will feature works arranged by student composers.  This concert will feature new arrangements by Mikaela Brown, Gregory Florio and Conway Hahne.

Student conductor and conducting scholarship recipient Robert Thornton will lead the graduating seniors in several selections, while student musicians will accompany the choir on several selections.  Rehearsal and performance pianists for the afternoon will be Susan Trivette and Jacob Hahn.
