Dr. J. Michael Bitzer, Professor of Politics at Catawba College, was featured in an article on WRAL.com. The topic of the article was the important role North Carolina plays in the marriage debate.
Bitzer says the debate in North Carolina has a special resonance because of the prominence the presidential election will bring to the state.
"North Carolina is kind of a moderate, center-right state, so if the amendment goes down this would be a very clear signal that gay marriage has gotten to a level of acceptance in the broader society," he said. Read more...
