Catawba College Athletics has partnered with 15 Rowan County United Way Agencies to pre-sell tickets to the first home football game of the season. These agencies will sell tickets to the 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 27th match-up against Carson-Newman and have the potential to realize half of the profits from every general admission ticket they sell.
"This is a wonderful way to fill the seats in Shuford Stadium while helping these agencies raise funds to support the good works they do in our community," said Senior Assistant Athletics Director Craig Turnbull, who worked to create the collaboration with the United Way Agencies.
Turnbull recalled the previous collaborative effort between Catawba Athletics and United Way in the Great Berry Ride, hosted by Patterson Farms. This community cycling event drew more than 70 riders to the inaugural event held last April.
"Any chance to work collaboratively with Jackie Harris (Campaign and Marketing Director at Rowan County United Way) is always a wonderful opportunity," Turnbull added.
The September 27th home opener for Catawba Indians Football will be the second South Atlantic Conference (SAC) game of the season for the team that is coached by Curtis Walker '93.
