The band FISHER STREET is finally announcing their summer tour plans. The Salisbury, NC-based band will be playing shows throughout the month of July in N.C., Va., and Md. The band will kick off their tour on Friday, July 6 at The Evening Muse in the NoDa area of Charlotte.

The band is composed of five musicians, four of them students at Catawba College in Salisbury. Justin Dionne is the vocalist and guitarist. Eric Finland is a co-writer and keyboard/organ player. Charlotte local Jennie Brooks is the drummer. Catawba sophomore Therron Causey is the saxophone player, and Dan Hazard plays bass guitar. FISHER STREET is traveling around N.C. and the East Coast (this summer) to promote the release of their debut EP, “In the Background of the World,” which was released in February of 2007.

The Band took the month of June off while singer Justin Dionne attended summer school at Catawba College and pianist Eric Finland fulfilled an internship in the Mississippi Delta. June was not a total break from performing though, Justin and Jennie performed for several benefits for the American Cancer Society in early June. Justin also performed with the Salisbury Symphony at their summer 'Pops at the Post' concert.

FISHER STREET has been spreading out through North Carolina in the past months since their release, playing great venues such as The Evening Muse in Charlotte and The Cave in Chapel Hill.
