Members from each of Catawba’s 17 NCAA teams took turns sitting in a rocking chair and kept it rocking until halftime of the Oct. 30 Catawba football game against Carson-Newman. Proceeds from the fundraiser were presented to representatives of the Rowan County Special Olympics and will be used to help cover travel expenses of those local Special Olympians who have qualified to participate in regional and nationalEvents.

Officers for the SAAC include president Crissi Harrison, a senior volleyball player from Hickory, vice-president Carol Marquis, a junior cross-country runner from Medina, Ohio, and secretary/treasurer Thomas Giles, a senior baseball player from Lynchburg, Va.   SAAC Advisors are Ginger Ashley, volleyball coach, and Nan Whitley, softball coach.
