Speaking of giving, postcards have gone out announcing another Brady Author's Symposium at Catawba College this spring. Alma Brady, who made a donation with husband Charles to endow the annual event in 1991, died Jan. 8 at her Florida home.
Longtime residents of Salisbury, the Bradys moved away, but they invested generously in the city's cultural and educational life through the symposium and other endowments, too many to mention here. She also served on the N.C. Council of Arts, appointed by Gov. Jim Hunt. Alma Brady's love of the arts will continue to bloom in Salisbury for years to come.
