Steve McKinzie, Library Director at Catawba College, discusses the library's Amazon Collection Enhancement Project, an initiative designed to engage alumni and faculty in the purchase of key library materials.
The Friends of the Corriher-Linn-Black Library have introduced a new "wish list" project to strengthen the library's current holdings with the goal of giving Catawba students a library collection to support their research, deepen their understanding of the world, and enable them to excel in their courses.
Through the Catawba College Amazon Collection Enhancement Project, members of the Catawba community, alumni and friends of the college can help enhance the education of current and future Catawba students by making a purchase from the Catawba College Library's Wish List on the Amazon.com website. Included on the wish list are a number of books and CDs arranged by a variety of subjects and compiled through a collaborative effort between the librarians and faculty members at Catawba.
Upon purchase, Amazon ships the book(s) directly to the library and staff members attach an attractive bookplate with the donor's name on the inside cover to commemorate the gift and patronage to the library.
Alternatively, those wishing to make a gift directly to the Library can do so on Catawba's secure online giving website.
