Experts from around the world will convene at the Center for the Environment at Catawba College in August to discuss the development of hydrogen-powered railways and transit.
Pioneers in the new technology will deliver presentations at the Third International Hydrail Conference to expedite the development of this petroleum- and pollution-free method of transportation. "Hydrail" is the general term used to describe hydrogen-powered railways and transit. One focus of the conference will be hydrail streetcars.
Presenters from India, South Korea, France, Denmark, Canada and the United States will share details of their projects during the two-day conference on August 13-14. The keynote speaker at the conference dinner on Monday evening, August 13, will be Bill Ross, North Carolina's Secretary of the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources. Tickets will be available to the general public.
