Dr. Sheila Brownlow, a professor of psychology at Catawba College, and two of her former students, Jessica Davison of Springfield, Pa., and Danielle Schneider of New Castle, Del., both 2009 graduates, co-authored a paper that has been accepted for publication by the Psi Chi Journal.
The paper, entitled "Influence of name cues to ethnicity on judgments of guilt and sentencing," examines the way that the ethnicity of people's names serves as prompts to produce differential judgments of culpability for crimes.
