MICHELLE MEDINA VILLALON ‘23
Michelle is the Marketing Coordinator for WDAV, classical public radio, as well as a freelance arts critic, director, and writer. She gained skills in administration, leadership, and more through involvement in Honors Scholars, Writing Center, Catawba Singers, and the Blue Masque Theatre Society. At Catawba, Michelle says she was inspired to dream big and fearlessly pursue her goals.

KYLE EAGER ‘23
Kyle graduated from Catawba College with his Master’s in Sport Management. He is currently working in Charlotte, employed as an Athletics Communications Associate for the National Junior College Athletic Association. He credits the Sports Management program with broadening his horizons through connections and networking with leaders in his industry.

Shemya is currently working for ESPN Events, Shemya helps to plan college events where she has the opportunity to aid in everything from operations to social media. Shemya says “from Grad monthly experience trips to volunteer work with local sport organizations, there wasn’t a time that we weren’t given the resources we needed to be successful.”

JACOB HIATT ‘23
Jacob will be pursuing a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University this fall. He attributes his success to the guidance he received from Catawba’s faculty, particularly Dr. Rushing and Dr. Saner. Jacob has been actively involved in Honors Council, Beta Beta Beta, Pre-Health Organization, American Chemical Society, Gamma Sigma Epsilon, Phi Epsilon, and tutoring.

Paige is the president of the Student North Carolina Association of Educators, a statewide pre-professional organization for prospective educators. She is pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Virginia Tech, focusing on Women, Gender, and Sexuality throughout history. Paige’s is graduating member of our Honors Program, the cheer squad, and served as Homecoming Queen.

Elizabeth currently works at Rennie Advisory in Australia, providing financial modeling and business case services to support clients making investment decisions. At Catawba, she was a double major in Accounting & Finance and Economics, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Elizabeth participated in tennis, and various honors societies including Alpha Chi, Phi Epsilon, Phi Beta.

Lillie will pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in line with her belief in service beyond oneself, one of our core pillars. She was involved in Catawba’s Honors Scholars, Honors Council of Students, Campus Ministry, Alpha Chi, Psi Chi, and was a Junior Marshal. Lillie is “grateful for the invaluable experiences I’ve had with faculty and friends during my time at Catawba.”

Trey dedicated his studies to Environment and Sustainability with a focus on Policy and Advocacy. Trey aspires to contribute to the EPA’s Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Liberties, aiming to create a safe and equitable environment for all. This pursuit aligns seamlessly with the sense of environmental stewardship instilled in Trey at our esteemed Center for the Environment.
