  • Bachelor of Arts in Art and Visual Culture with a minor in Psychology - Appalachian State University

Rachel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Her experience includes working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. She has supported a wide range of populations, including at-risk youth, college students, and individuals navigating substance use and relationship challenges.

Drawing from her multicultural background and training in Expressive Arts Therapy, Rachel tailors her approach to meet each student’s unique needs. She believes in a collaborative, strengths-based process that empowers students to build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and recognize their own resilience. If a student feels comfortable, Rachel integrates art, mindfulness, and storytelling techniques to help support emotional insight and personal growth.

Before joining Catawba, Rachel worked in a community college setting, where she helped students balance personal challenges alongside their academic goals. Rachel understands that college can bring both exciting opportunities and unexpected challenges, and she enjoys helping students navigate this important stage of life.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys crafting, gardening, and going on kayak camping trips with her friends, family, and dogs.
