Professor Sinz' specialization in the Department of Nursing curriculum is in Adult Health, both in the acute and chronic patient populations. Professor Sinz started her career in clinical education in 2017, transitioning to academia following her development of a nursing education foundation. Her professional background includes medical-surgical, oncological, and perioperative nursing, with an emphasis in teaching not only nurses, but other healthcare providers. Her teaching philosophy focuses on collaborative, interactive learning, and narrative pedagogies to connect with her learners and assist them to construct concrete connections with one another, their patients, and the nursing profession as a whole. While pursuing her graduate degree in nursing education, Mrs. Sinz conducted research in stress management with a group of novice intraoperative nurses in a surgical services training academy during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the future, her goal is to pursue a doctorate in nursing and to continue research on stress management and effective coping strategies among nursing students.
