Recycling at Catawba
Look for – and use! – the recycling bins conveniently placed near trashcans in hallways and vending areas! Place your empty bottle, can, or clean mixed paper in the appropriate marked bin, just a few short steps away from the trash can.
What CAN be recycled at Catawba
- Aluminum Cans (rinsed out)
- Mixed Paper
- Plastics 1 & 2 (be sure to check the number in the recycling triangle and rinse your bottles out!)
- Miscellaneous papers: junk mail, newspaper, flattened cereal boxes, mixed paper, copy paper, magazines.
- Cardboard (flattened)
What CAN'T be recycled at Catawba
- Plastic Bags
- Glass
- Styrofoam
- Garbage/Food
- Food contaminated items (dirty plastic and/or paper towels)
- Pizza Boxes
- Plastic Wrap
- Food Wrappers
- Carbon Paper
- Rubber Bands
- Tape
- Remember – When in doubt, throw it out!
