Here's a quick preview of what can and can't be recycled at Catawba! Continue reading below for details:

What CAN be recycled at Catawba

  • Aluminum cans, cups, and bottles (rinsed out)
  • Plastic bottles, jars, and jugs (rinsed out)
  • Miscellaneous papers: junk mail, newspaper, flattened cereal boxes, mixed paper, copy paper, magazines.
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Glass bottles and jars

What CAN'T be recycled at Catawba       

  • Plastic bags
  • Plastic wrap
  • Plastic cups
  • Plastic straws
  • Plastic utensils
  • Plastic fruit containers (plastic clamshells)
  • Styrofoam of any kind
  • Broken glass
  • Food and food contaminated items 
  • Used paper towels
  • Pizza boxes (these are compostable - not recyclable)
  • Snack/candy wrappers
  • Carbon paper
  • Rubber bands
  • Tape
  • Remember - When in doubt, throw it out (in the landfill bins)!

Electronics Recycling
Recycling Batteries; Tape the ends off and drop them off
