Steffanie is a Catawba alumna and began working at the college in 2011 after she graduated. While her career began in Admissions, she currently serves as Director of IT Operations where she oversees technology projects. Her experience within the scope of IT Steffanie is a Catawba alumna and began working at the college in 2011 after she graduated. She currently serves as Director of IT Operations where she oversees technology projects and guides the team as they “Make IT a Human Experience”. She loves embracing efficiencies, thinking innovatively, and making sure people are at the center of decisions as she directs the team in their endeavors. She loves meeting with campus partners as they look to leverage technology to bring the institution forward. Major projects over the last few years include a full campus network overhaul, classroom audio/visual upgrades, and the establishment of technology standards for campus. 

Hometown:
Depends on your definition. Jefferson, NJ, Aguada, PR, and Salisbury, NC are all home.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
The Preserve. It was my study spot as a student and is now where I take my son to get time in nature.

Favorite event at Catawba?
Awards Convocation – I love getting to cheer on our students and colleagues

Fun Fact or Hobby
I love Dungeons and Dragons and am in two active campaigns each week. I taught a course on learning leadership skills through the use of Dungeons and Dragons in Fall 2024.

Best Advice for Future Students:
Catawba is a place where you can be authentically yourself. Take advantage of the experiences Catawba has to offer. You may learn something more about yourself and find new passions – like I did with Dungeons and Dragons when I was a student here.
