HOBBIES & INTERESTS:

I am passionate about my work in international higher education, which includes my interest in traveling and exploring the world! So far, I have been to 63 different countries. Outside of traveling, I really enjoy playing disc golf, swimming, reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends!

FAVORITE PLACES:

I graduated from UNC-G in 2004 with a degree in Anthropology. Some of my favorite places in NC are the beaches (Wrightsville, Ocracoke, Topsail, etc.) and mountains (Linville Gorge, Table Rock, Asheville, etc.). Abroad, I really like Hong Kong, Amsterdam, and Cartagena!

I was drawn to the exciting work and growth happening at Catawba.

Daniel Diaz is the Director of the Center for International Studies at Catawba. His focus is to help students, faculty, staff, and other constituents of the Catawba community experience international diversity.

Daniel felt drawn to Catawba. “I was drawn to the exciting work and growth happening at Catawba. I saw a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with interesting colleagues and students to co-construct meaningful academic international experiences. I believe that through those experiences we can enjoy meaningful intercultural relationships and better appreciate the complex world we live in.”

When asked what he loves about Catawba, he said, “Having only been at Catawba for one semester, I will say that so far I love the friendly atmosphere and that you have a disc golf course on-campus!”
