Plaza Pollinator Paradise

c. 2025

Tucked between Hedrick Administration Hall and the Cannon Student Center, this compact garden was once home to a large, non-native shrub. Now, you can find many colorful North American native plants, including Firewheel (Gaillardia pulchella), Gray Goldenrod (Solidago nemoralis), and Black raspberry (Rubus occidentalis). Although non-native, the garden also boasts a Brown Turkey Fig tree in the very center that will be sure to yield many fruits as it continues to grow and mature. This garden’s round, welcoming design supports a wide range of pollinators and offers a peaceful spot for study or a nature break, only steps away from Stanback Plaza in the heart of campus.
