About CARE

Collaboration – Through a coordinated, collaborative and structured method, address student behavior that may be disruptive or threatening to the Catawba community.

Assistance – Identify and evaluate student needs to provide appropriate support, ensuring their wellbeing and success within the Catawba community.

Resource – Utilize the various resources available to students in helping them balance their needs and those of the Catawba community.

Education – Through various mediums, educate and create an awareness to the Catawba community on access and resources for students.

As members of the Catawba College community, it is our mission to act by supporting and assisting any student who may be experiencing challenging or difficult life circumstances or show any threatening or disruptive behavior to the wellbeing and safety of our community.

Objectives/Responsibilities:

• Support students during times of increased stress or crisis situations.
• Provide resource referrals to help students manage their stress, anxiety and or mental health needs.
• Maintain effective lines of communication in partnership with other offices and support networks as necessary.
• Develop an action plan with the students and provide a comprehensive response to help avert more serious difficulties.
