In 2022, Cannon Dining Commons underwent a comprehensive $3.4 million renovation to enhance the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff. The project introduced a modern layout featuring expanded seating options, updated lighting, new paint, and flooring. Food service enhancements included enlarged cooking stations for pizza, pasta, grill, and a chef's choice area with a daily rotating menu. A relocated salad bar and a new "Pure Eats" station were added, focusing on dishes free from the top ten food allergens. Additionally, a dedicated teaching kitchen was established to offer hands-on culinary training. The renovation also incorporated sustainable practices, such as the use of compostable dishware and partnerships for recycling food waste.
