Campus as Forest
Our Campus as Forest Plan is a transformative vision that actively harmonizes nature and humanity.
Campus as Forest centers regenerative sustainability at the heart of Catawba College’s environmental initiatives. We’re cultivating a campus that actively restores the environment by bridging landscape, culture, and curriculum. Through ecosystem-based learning, we’re imagining our campus as a living ecosystem with community wellbeing at its center.
The Regenerative Landscape Plan, in conjunction with the Campus as Forest vision, establishes the foundation for a living, breathing campus laboratory. This foundation incorporates campus experience, environmental regeneration, and academic research to support our initiatives.
At Catawba College, our campus is a place to live and learn in harmony with nature. We draw inspiration from the beautiful Piedmont landscape and transform ecological knowledge into action that advances the environment and our communities. Through our strategic vision, we’re creating a blueprint for a campus that restores environmental health, creates an engaging and collaborative student experience, and positions Catawba as a global leader in environmental sustainability.
