Catawba Baseball
Since the summer of 1996, Coach Jim Gantt ’89 has continued the tradition of baseball success at Catawba, leading talented players and posting 20 straight, 30+ win seasons, including nine 40-win seasons since 2004.
Catawba College is proud of all our student athletes and the success that they achieve after Catawba. Currently, 5 former baseball players are playing professionally, and over the years, 43 others have played professionally. All of these players rounded first base at Newman Park!

You have to be willing to live with things being worse for a while, knowing all the time that these adjustments will be better for the long run. Many coaches do not want to make a change for fear of messing things up. But, if you have a good plan and strategy and aren’t afraid to implement the needed changes, you can end with something you never knew you could have. Those changes are being made to the new Newman Park now through a great plan and strategy. The future of Newman Park is going to be unbelievable!
