Catawba College received a $7 million gift to accelerate planned residence hall renovations. Catawba estimates the total cost to enhance student living spaces will be approximately $22.7 million. This donation kickstarts that project.

“We are committed to a vibrant residential experience as part of the exceptional education we offer at Catawba,” said David P. Nelson, President of Catawba. “We are so grateful for this significant investment in our students.”

Renovation plans include enhanced accessibility, updated mechanical systems, and added amenities, including enhanced indoor and outdoor common spaces and study areas, along with other improvements.

“Providing our students with quality living spaces is one of our key initiatives in our new strategic plan,” added Meg Dees, Vice President of Development. “This gift will allow us to make improvements to our residence halls, vastly improving where our students live. We will be seeking additional gifts to help fund our total residence hall renovation project.”
