The Catawba College International Club hosted a festive Friendsgiving celebration on November 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Center for the Environment, bringing together students from around the world for an evening of food, fellowship, and cultural exchange.

The event was organized by Drs. Joanna Trammell and Jennifer Yurchisin, with special support from adjunct professor Dr. Ewa Tomczak-Wozniak. Friendsgiving provided an opportunity for international students to gather in the spirit of gratitude and community during the Thanksgiving season.

Students in attendance represented a wide range of countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mauritius, Nepal, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Scotland, Sweden, and the United States. Participants prepared and shared a variety of homemade dishes, many of which reflected traditional and authentic cuisine from the country of origin. The evening was filled with lively conversation, shared stories, and cultural appreciation as students bonded over food and friendship. The celebration highlighted Catawba College’s commitment to fostering an inclusive campus environment where global perspectives are valued and celebrated. Friendsgiving was a joyful reminder of the power of community, demonstrating how food and fellowship can bring people together across cultures and borders.
