Kathy Conte, a 1973 alumna of Catawba College, retired from Charles England Elementary School after a 38-year career in education.

After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Catawba, Conte started her career at Cecil School teaching third grade. Later, she taught at Southwest Elementary School and Dunbar School, which was later renamed to Charles England.

Conte attributes a calling from God as the reason she became a teacher.
