It will be football and fireworks under the lights this Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. at Catawba College's Shuford Stadium.  This home football opener features two teams picked as favorites to win their respective conferences – the Catawba Indians against the Winston-Salem State University Rams.

During halftime, enjoy a performance by the WSSU "Red Sea of Sound" Marching Band.  Watch as the 2015-2016 South Atlantic Conference Female Athlete of the Year Carley Tysinger '16 of Catawba Softball is recognized with a SAC award.

Plus rekindle memories of Catawba Football seasons past when former football coaches are recognized for helping to achieve the program's 500th win.  Former coaches returning to Kirkland Field for this special occasion include Harvey Stratton, Steve Shaughnessy, Pete Stout, Bill Mauldin, J.D. Haglan, and David Bennett.

And if this all doesn't sound like enough fun, wait until after the game – a free fireworks show is scheduled!  You won't even have to leave your seats to enjoy the sky show from East Coast Pyrotechnics, Inc., simply stay in place for the "shock and awe" display.

Don't have ticket yet?  No worries.  General admissions tickets are available at the gate - $10 for adults, $15 for reserved, $5 for students ages 6 to 17, and free for children 5 and under, and free with ID for Catawba students, faculty and staff.
