In January, three faculty members of the Catawba College’s Mathematics Department attended the annual National Joint Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America and the American Mathematical Society in Atlanta, Georgia.

Drs. Paul Baker, Sharon Sullivan, and John Zerger participated in the four-day meeting where they attended both mathematical research presentations and discussions on different undergraduate teaching techniques. In addition, Dr. Sullivan also presented a paper on her research titled, Constructing Extension Configurations from vk Configurations.

Also attending was Catawba College graduate, Kristen Kobylus ’04. Kristen is currently attending Wake Forest University in pursuit of a master’s degree in mathematics.
