Thanks to assistance from a local eatery, Catawba College's Phi Beta Lambda Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America hosted a successful fundraiser, the proceeds of which will support student travel and lodging expenses at an upcoming state conference this spring.

The fundraiser held March 4th at 5 Guys Burgers and Fries on Jake Alexander Boulevard in Salisbury raised $300 for the organization. Two men, long associated with Catawba College and the Ketner School of Business, were front and center at the fundraiser. They were Ralph Ketner, trustee emeritus of Food Lion, Inc. and a member of the College Board of Trustees, and Phil Kirk, the College's vice president of external relations, both of whom served as celebrity chefs for the event.

Catawba's chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America focuses on building business and leadership skills of its members. President of Catawba's Phi Beta Lambda chapter is Nick Goodman of Salisbury.
