Catawba College Community Music Program announces the following summer opportunities for piano students. ;

    Students will be grouped according to ability level and will enjoy experiencing and learning music from the charming classic, The Wizard of Oz, and huge Broadway hit, Wicked.

    Daily activities will include keyboard repertoire classes, improvising and composing at the keyboard, ensemble playing, rhythm and theory games, and other creative activities.

    Classes are 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 3-6 in Catawba College's Music Annex, 129 W. Corriher Ave.

    Staff will include Erin Harper (BM, MM), staff keyboardist for Catawba College and lead piano instructor for Catawba Community Music; and Emily Schuttenberg (BA, MM), adjunct faculty member for Catawba College and piano instructor for Catawba Community Music.

    Tuition is $75 (non-refundable) fee which includes instruction, materials, music and snacks. Deadline for registration is July 17.

  • Private piano instruction will also be offered to students of all ages and ability levels by Community Music piano faculty members. Lesson days and times vary with individual instructors.

    Students may enroll for varied number of lessons. Tuition is $17.50 per 30 minute lesson. Must submit registration and full tuition to music office by first day of lessons.
