FORT MYERS, FL - The process of becoming a Saint usually takes decades or even centuries and involves having a life of almost perfect virtue during that time. For the voice of the Fort Myers Miracle, Sean Aronson, it took just a few years to reach the status of becoming a Saint, a Saint Paul Saint, that is. Aronson is leaving the Miracle to become the new radio voice of the St. Paul Saints.
The 29 year old Aronson will take over as the Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations for the Saints. His duties will include broadcasting all 96 Saints game on the radio, handling all duties regarding the media, putting together all written material and sales.
"It has been an incredible four years with the Miracle and I have learned so much," said Aronson. "I can't thank Linda (McNabb) and Steve (Gliner) for allowing me to grow as a broadcaster and a person. My time in Fort Myers is something I will never forget and I truly appreciate my time working with the Miracle and everyone in the Twins organization from the managers and coaches, to front office staff."
Aronson began his broadcasting tenure with the Miracle (Single-A Twins) in 2003 and broadcast all 140 Miracle games for the past four seasons including two playoff series in 2003 and 2006. He also did select Minnesota Twins Spring Training games the past two seasons on Sports Radio 770 ESPN. He began working in baseball in 2000 as a public relations assistant with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple-A Rockies) and broadcast his first professional game that season. After his one year with the Sky Sox he took over as the Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations for the Allentown Ambassadors from 2001-2002.
The Goldklang Group own and operate both the Miracle and Saints as well as owning and operating the Hudson Valley Renegades and Charleston River Dogs Professional Baseball teams.
"The Goldklang Group has used the Fun is Good motto for all of its teams," said Aronson. "The transition from the Miracle to the Saints will be an easy one because I am already familiar with the Saints off the wall approach and style. I am looking forward to working with General Manager Derek Sharrer and his creative staff of people."
Aronson is a graduate of the University of Colorado (Journalism 99) and was born and raised in Northridge, CA.
Taking over for Aronson behind the microphone with the Miracle will be Sean Fox. Fox, 22, a 2002 graduate of Riverdale High School in Fort Myers has recently served as the Miracle public address announcer for parts of the past six years. He enters the play-by-play booth as a recent '06 graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina where he majored in communications and spent three years calling football, basketball and baseball games for the Indians on WSAT 1280AM in Salisbury, including the NCAA II Regional Tournament last May in Tampa, FL. Fox has lived his whole life in Fort Myers.
Gary Sharp will be the new Media Relations Manager, handling all press releases and dealings with the media, and the new PA voice at Hammond Stadium. Sharp joined the Miracle in November of 2006 and took the position of Ticket Manager. Sharp spent last season in Wheeling, WV as the voice of the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).
"While we will miss Sean Aronson and everything he has done to enhance the broadcast and the media department over the last four years we are happy that he is getting the chance to gain more exposure in St. Paul and hopefully, move one step closer to his dream of broadcasting Major League Baseball," said Gliner, Miracle General Manager. "We know Sean Fox will be a capable replacement and look forward to watching him grow much the same way we did with Aronson."
