Dr. Stephen Etters, an associate professor of music at Catawba College,  has been asked once again to adjudicate for the Charlotte Symphony Guild "Young  Artist Concerto Competition" in late January.

Dr. Etters has also been asked to serve on the Advisory Board for the Mitchell  Community College Fine Arts and Music Education program for the 2014-2015 academic  year. A planning meeting will take place in February to discuss programmatic  needs as well as transfer policies and procedures between Mitchell and Catawba.

Drs. Etters and David Fish, chair of the Catawba Music Department, have been  invited to present a clinic entitled "Pop Goes the Music: Expanding Student  Engagement Through Popular Music Styles" at the 2014 South Carolina Music Educators In-Service Conference to be held in North Charleston, S.C., in February.

In March, Dr. Etters will be serving as the 2014 High School Honors Band Clinician  for the annual Columbus County (NC) "Celebrate the Arts" festival.  He will be adjudicating for various concert and solo / ensemble events throughout  April and May, to include the South Central (NC) District Band Association Solo and Ensemble Festival.
