The Catawba Singers and Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Phillip Burgess, will present their Fall Concert "Choral Masterworks" at 5:30 pm on Sunday, October 5 in Omwake-Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College. The concert will feature music drawn from the Renaissance to the Twentieth Century, representing a wide variety of contrasting styles.

The inspiration for this program came from a list of "100 must-do choral selections" compiled by choral directors from around the country and recently published in their national magazine, The Choral Journal. Composers represented include, Handel, Bach, Brahms and Durufle. Recent composers represented on the list and on the program are Brazilian composer Ernani Aguiar and Gospel composer Robert Ray.

The program will be accompanied by Jacob Hahn and Susan Trivette on the piano, and Matthew Brown, organist.

The hour long concert is free and open to the public.
