Six Catawba College Athletic Training students and several faculty members attended the 2018 North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association Spring Symposium held in early March in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

The students included senior Samantha Pugh of Albemarle, juniors Kyrbee Cheek of Burlington and Brittany Sprinkles of China Grove, along with sophomores Yeimi Reyna-Romero of Concord, Brooke Gammons of East Bend, and Peter Mantione of Indian Trail. Sport and Health Science faculty members who attended were Brandy Jones-Neelam, Jim Hand, and Carrie Graham.

Student Samantha Pugh shared this about her experience: “The symposium was great! We learned a lot about rotator cuff injuries, glenohumeral labral tears, and the progression of rehabilitation. It was also a great networking opportunity to meet future employers. I enjoyed it!”
