At the Alpha Chi National College Honors Society Convention in Louisville, Ky., Catawba College had four students present their undergraduate research.

Hope Woods (biology and psychology major, Burlington, Conn.) and Breki Bjarnason (psychology major, Reykjavik, Iceland) presented “How Space Constraints Influence Physiological and Psychological Processes”.  Madeline Auchter (musical theatre major, Houston, Texas) presented “ A Feminist-Dramaturge-Actor’s Analysis of Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive Focusing on Gender Binarism’s Influence on Rape Culture”.  Austin Collins (history major, Mooresville, N.C.) presented “Revolution and War: The Rise of a Nation”.

In addition, the Alpha Chi chapter at Catawba College was recognized as receiving the prestigious Star Chapter designation for the 18th consecutive year. The faculty sponsor for Alpha Chi is Dr. Sharon Sullivan, associate professor and chair of the department of mathematics and computer science.
