The Southeastern Small College / University Band Directors Symposium invites applicants to participate in the inaugural 2017 Southeastern Intercollegiate Band Clinic March 20-21.

The clinic will consist of qualified instrumental students from membership institutions and will culminate in a special concert performance and post-concert social / reception. Applicants should contact their director for information regarding qualification for this new and exciting collegiate band opportunity.

 

Event Details

Dates: March 20-21, 2017

Performing Ensembles: SIBC Symphonic Band and SIBC Pop Ensemble

Symphonic Band: Woodwind, Brass, Concert Percussion and Double Bass

Pop Ensemble: Electric Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Drum Set, Aux. Perc., (vocals opt.)

Event Site:    Robertson Community Center at Catawba College (2300 West Innes Street, Salisbury, NC 28144)

Site Host / Symphonic Band Clinician: Dr. Steve Etters, Director of Instrumental Music, Catawba College

Pop Ensemble Clinician: Dr. David Fish, Director of Popular Music / Music Business, Catawba College

Monday, March 20
Keppel Auditorium lobby

  • 6:00pm - Check-in / music distribution
  • 7:00pm - Symphonic Band in Keppel and Pop Ensemble in Crystal Ballroom
  • 9:00pm - Social mixer (Crystal Ballroom)
  • 10:00pm - Evening break

Tuesday, March 21

  • 10:00am - Rehearsal (breaks provided)
  • 12:00pm - Lunch (cafeteria)
  • 1:30pm - Rehearsal (breaks provided)
  • 4:30pm -   Dinner / concert prep (dinner location TBA)
  • 6:15pm - Stage call (both ensembles)
  • 7:00pm -   Concert - "SIBC Symphonic Band" (Keppel)
  • 8:00pm -   Concert - "SIBC Pop Ensemble" (Crystal)
  • 8:30  Reception (Crystal)
  • 9:30 Concluding Remarks
