Catawba Worship Arts is sponsoring a masterclass, Worship: Its Essence and Form, given by Dan Grassi, Creative Arts Ministry Pastor at Westover Church in Greensboro, NC. The class is scheduled for April 15th at 4:00 p.m. and will be held at Catawba College, Williams Music Building, room 017.

Grassi has served at Westover since 2009 where he oversees the creative design, development, volunteer recruitment, and worship leadership of Westover’s weekend services and special events. Grassi has a passion for equipping volunteers in music performance, worship leadership, and sharing thoughts on worship philosophy and music technology. Boasting an extensive resume, Grassi has collaborated with recognized artists in the Christian music industry, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music & Vocal Performance from San Diego Christian College and a Master of Arts in Music Education from San Jose State University. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. in Music Education at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  

This masterclass will be an interactive seminar, exploring the role of music in congregational settings. Topics of discussion will include the role of pastoral musicianship in the arts team and theological concepts that shape song selection and effective worship service design.  Worship leaders, musicians, pastors, youth and volunteers are encouraged to attend.

The masterclass is free and open to the public.
