Catawba's Theatre Arts Department is issuing a call to alumni who work in the performance industry to Adopt a Senior. This Department's Adopt a Senior program is designed to create a capstone experience for students.

Theatre alumni are being asked to volunteer to mentor a senior theatre arts student as they prepare to graduate from the college and enter professional life. The alums would only have to agree to be available to their selected senior via e-mail to answer questions. These questions might range from specifics about living in a certain city or part of the country, to job search strategies, or to what it is like to work in a specific area of the discipline.

Theatre alumni willing to participate are asked to complete a simple form available at www.catawba.edu/adopt.   The alumni will be matched with one of seniors in the program. Seniors will happily accept more than one mentor.

Theatre professors Drs. Beth Homan and Kurt Corriher began the Adopt a Senior program last year. This year, they decided to use an online form to cast a broader net and involve more Theatre Arts alumni in the project.
