Catawba College was a qualifying site for the NC Council of Teachers of Mathematics State Contests in Algebra I and Geometry on April 6th. The College Mathematics Department hosted the contest which drew students from Salisbury, Charlotte and Greensboro.

A total of 117 students and 11 supervisors attended and local schools represented included Salisbury High School, Knox Middle School, West Rowan Middle School, Sacred Heart Catholic School, and Graystone Day School. Local students who qualified to move on to the regional run-offs in Algebra I included Garrett White, West Rowan Middle School; and in Geometry, Michelle Nguyen, Seth Morris, Garrison Stevens, all of Salisbury High School.

Local teachers attending were Gregory Kuhn, Salisbury High; Michelle Johnson, West Rowan Middle; Kim Fortney, Sacred Heart; Kelly Poplin, Graystone Day; and Aleen Besmer, Knox Middle.

Catawba College was a qualifying site for the NC Council of Teachers of Mathematics State Contests in Algebra I and Geometry on April 6th. The College Mathematics Department hosted the contest which drew students from Salisbury, Charlotte and Greensboro.
