The Catawba College Chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honor society, inducted five new members during a February 3 ceremony held in Ketner Hall on campus.

Inductees included Alan Burgess of Rockwell; Jacob Hill of Salisbury; Mark Ketterer of Hamilton, N.J.; Joseph Manser of Mooresville; and Jonathon McNeill of Asheboro. The faculty advisor for the organization, Dr. Douglas Brown, a professor of mathematics, gave a short talk after the ceremony entitled, "Choice: What could possibly go wrong?"

The Catawba College Chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honor society, inducted five new members during an April 17 ceremony held in Ketner Hall on campus.

Inductees included Andrew McCollister of Rockwell; Cameron Beard of Conover; Suzanne "Suzie" Williams of Efland; Jordan Hunsaker of Charlotte; and Luke Kooyman of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dr. Paul Baker, a Catawba professor of mathematics, made a presentation during the gathering entitled, "Using Topology to Solve a Geometric Existence Question."  The faculty advisor for the organization is Dr. Douglas Brown, a professor of mathematics.

Inductees include Spencer Ashley of Yadkinville; Dustin Craft of China Grove; Deon Cuffie-Joseph of Miramar, Fla.; Lori Fraley of Cleveland; Bridgett Henderson of Statesville; and Mary McKee of Mt. Airy. Faculty advisor for the organization is Dr. Douglas Brown.
