Three Catawba Alumni Tapped to Coach at 2016 Shrine Bowl

The 2016 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas (NC vs SC All-Stars, the oldest all-stars game in the world) kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 17 at Wofford College's Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, SC.

The Catawba alumni, all coaches for the N.C. team, include Pat Moser ’88, head football coach at Orange County High School, who will coach the offensive line; Ken Avent ’94, head football coach at James Kenan High School, who will be the quarterbacks coach; and Steve Breitenstein ’71, head football coach at Watauga High School, who will coach the defensive line for the game.

The 2016 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas is powered by OrthoCarolina and sponsored by the six Shrine Centers of the Carolinas. It pits the best high school senior all-stars from North and South Carolina against each other in a state-against-state matchup. The Game and its halftime pageantry will be broadcast live in the two Carolinas over The Shrine Bowl Radio Network and via the worldwide web over ESPN3, and tape delayed to be viewed over ESPNU.
