Non-Traditional Student Admissions

If you were previously enrolled as a degree seeking student at Catawba College but left prior to completing your degree requirements, you will need to seek readmission to the College. Re-Entering students should not have attended any other accredited college or university since leaving Catawba. If you have attended another college or university, you should apply as a Transfer Student.

Things to Know:

• An internal document will circulate to verify your eligibility to return.
• Student must not have a balance due or need to petition ACPOL in order to be admitted.
• Student Affairs and Title IX may have conditions for admission.
• Financial aid package is dependent upon funding and student status of Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Are you interested in taking additional college courses but not seeking an additional degree? You would apply as a Post-Baccalaureate Student. You must have a Bachelor Degree or higher.

1. Click on Undergraduate Student Application.
   
   
2. Create a portal if you have not applied to Catawba as a student previously. Log in to your portal if one was already created.
   
   
3. Once logged in, click on Apply Online at the top of the screen.
   
   
4. Select the Non-Traditional Pathway Application (On-Campus Only).
   
   
5. Fill out the Enrollment Information screen:
   • Catawba Program: Undergraduate
   • Entry Term: Term taking the course
   • Intended Major: Major you are considering when enrolling full time in college
   • Click Submit
     
     
6. Start the application
   
   
7. You will be entering as: Post Bac
   
   
8. Complete the remainder of the application and submit

You must also submit the following supplemental items to complete your admissions file:

• Final college transcript displaying graduation date and degree.

If you wish to enroll in a college course without receiving academic credit, you would apply to audit the course. Catawba College encourages life-long learning and allows students seeking educational enrichment to submit an online abbreviated application to audit a college course once permission from the instructor has been given.

No other materials are needed for admission.

Transient students are not seeking a degree from Catawba College and are considered visiting students. You must be enrolled full-time at another college or university and seek to take up to one semester of work at Catawba, but will return to your “home” institution.

You must also submit the following supplemental items to complete your admissions file:

• A letter of good standing   
  or
• College Transcript from the current institute of attendance

International Transient Students must submit the following:

• Original documents in person at Catawba College for photocopy or provide a notarized copy of the student’s passport, F-1 visa and current I-20. If you do not have an F-1 visa, you will not be allowed to enroll as a transient student, without exception; you may not study on a B-1/B-2 visitor or tourist visa.
• Transient Clearance Form must be completed by your Designated School Official (DSO) from your home institution and submitted to Catawba College’s Admissions Office. This grants permission for you to come to Catawba College while still on your home institution’s I-20.
