Jacy Noble is a Biochemistry major and Zoology minor at Catawba. She plays on the Women’s Tennis team, is a member of the Honors Council, and is a tutor at the SMART Center. She is also a Student-Leader in the Service Scholars program.

The Service Scholars Program is a program which empowers students to learn more about service by leading events that help to further develop their leadership abilities. The program’s mission is to inspire and enlighten students by emphasizing service and leadership as fundamental elements in the journey towards responsible citizenship that is driven by a zeal to enrich our world and those who inhabit it.

Jacy is a Student-Leader in the program as well as a Service Event Coordinator. Her responsibilities include organizing service events within our community, capturing appropriate service-related data, spreading awareness and increasing engagement for service opportunities. She said the goal of the program is, “to have students connect with each other while making a difference in the community.”

When asked what the program has planned for the near future, Jacy said, “The Service Scholars program aims to increase the number of volunteer opportunities offered for students along with increase the percentage of Catawba community engaged in service.”

“The other Service Scholars and I are super excited to be a part of this program and can't wait to work with other servant-minded students; so be on the lookout for up-and-coming service events!”

In addition to her work as a service scholar, Jacy has also joined TriBeta to help clean up the stream at Memorial Park and the Greenway near campus. She has served at Rowan Helping Ministries, The Pedal Factory, Power Cross, and a highway clean-up of our very own W. Innes Street.
