Young Theatre Arts Professional Development Scholarship

Fully supported by the Theatre Arts endowed Young Theatre Arts Development Fund, this professional development scholarship is available to up to four students per academic year.

About the Scholarship

One of the purposes of the Young Theatre Artist Development Fund (YTADF) is to support student artists majoring in Theatre with professional development opportunities.  In 2018, the Theatre Arts Faculty agreed to fund 4 competitive Professional Development Scholarships, worth $100.00 each, from the YTADF.  The scholarships may be used for travel expenses, conference registration or attendance, professional development materials (including, but not limited to: headshots, resume printing, printing of portfolio materials, art or theatre related supplies), or audition expenses. If you have a need that is not on this list that you believe constitutes a “professional development opportunity,” please feel free to apply and support your position in your narrative.

Students who receive scholarships will be required to submit an activities report and an expense report (with attached receipts) within a two week window after returning from/completing the development experience.  Failure to comply will result in repayment of the scholarship to the YTADF.

Students are strongly encouraged to provide evidence that they have also submitted an application to the SGA student scholarship for the academic year. Evidence may be in the form of a confirmation e-mail from SGA forwarded as part of the application for this scholarship.
