Judicial and Conduct Administration

Welcome! The Office of Student Conduct is a division of the Department of Student Affairs, responsible for creating a campus community that is knowledgeable of the policies and expectations of a Catawba College student.

The Director of the Office of Student Conduct serves as the senior hearing/conduct officer. They are primarily responsible for managing institutional risk in the adjudication of conduct cases, investigating alleged violations so as to ensure that policies, procedures and processes are adhered to in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in every area of the conduct process. Their goal is to promote positive student behavior through a restorative lens and impose the appropriate sanctions through a fair and equitable process.

The Student Conduct Board, advised by the Director of Student Conduct, carries out all conduct hearings with the mindset of institutional educational sanctions that provide teachable moments for students found responsible of violating policy. All incident statistics are published yearly on Catawba's Public Safety website.

Our Goals

  1. Ensure a fair, impartial and equitable process for all students involved in the adjudication process.
  2. Utilize the conduct process and opportunity for student growth and learning and the promotion of positive behavioral change.
  3. Respond to any crisis situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Collaborate with campus partners to ensure a coordinated and supportive response.
