General Education Assessment and Review (GEAR) Committee
The General Education Assessment and Review Committee (GEAR) assesses the effectiveness of the General Education Program. In particular, this committee:
- reviews proposals for courses to fulfill Foundations & Skills and Perspectives requirements;
- recommends learning outcome assessment procedures in regards to General Education offerings;
- reviews Outcome Assessment Reports (OARs);
- provides suggestions to faculty for improving their assessment of student learning with respect to General Education; and,
- considers the revision or deletion of General Education requirements as well as learning outcomes for General Education courses and makes recommendation to the faculty on these matters.
