Merit-Based Scholarships range from $8,000 to full tuition and are based on a student’s academic performance in high school and/or prior college. All students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships once they are granted admission to Catawba College.

We also invite nominations from High School Counselors for students worthy of these awards.

Catawba College's Most Prestigious Scholarship Award

To be considered, students must have a weighted GPA of 4.0 or greater or an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or greater and applied by November 15. Students who apply for the scholarship are strongly encouraged to also apply to the Honors Program (application available in the Admissions Portal).

A Full Tuition Scholarship

This award is for top students who excel in two or more of the primary values of Catawba: Scholarship, Character, Culture, and Service. Eligible students have engaged in an activity that sets them apart, such as starting their own service organization, initiating a new club, excelling as a leader in their school or community, starting their own business, or conducting a research project. To be considered, students must apply by November 15, 2023.
