Undergraduate Research
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Catawba are encouraged to pursue extended research projects which allow them to delve deep into a topic of their personal interest. Students can present their research on campus at a well-attended annual Catawba Research and Creativity Showcase or at state and regional professional conferences such as the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Research Symposium.

Catawba College’s Pursuit Program is excited to announce that Antar Fierce, a celebrated writer, artist, and teacher known for his work in style writing (graffiti), will be visiting Catawba College on September 18th. Fierce will engage with students, faculty, and the local community to share his expertise and experiences in the dynamic world of graffiti art.
2023 Catawba College Awards Ceremony Honors Students, Faculty, and Staff for Achievement and Service
Catawba College held its annual Awards Convocation on Thursday, April 20 in Omwake-Dearborn Chapel. Dr. Constance Rogers-Lowery, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, thanked all of the award recipients who have demonstrated the qualities upon which Catawba College was founded: scholarship, character, culture, and service.
Students from two Catawba College Honors Program participated in a two-night trip to Highlands, NC to learn from one another outside of the classroom.
